Obama is the 44th president of the United States of America, but he is above all the first Black president ! I think that this election is a historical event in the whole wide world. Indeed, all countries are involved in this election. Moreover, since Barack Obama has been elected, American citizens are waiting for changes. With Obama & his famous sentence "Yes, we can...", the United States of America can change and correct his mistakes all over the world. I am sure that this (...)

Barack Obama : a Real New Dawn !

The miracle of this 4th November may actually lie in this wonderful irony
28 décembre 2008, par J-M BettembourgIn the United States of America, the election of Barack Obama is a real turning point. Indeed, it is a huge hope for and coming from America. With such a leader in Washington the world’s destiny might be changed forever. But now the duty to keep his promises and not to disappoint his followers weighs down on Obama. It will probably not be the case since everyone’s hopes are as huge as the work awaiting the successor of Bush at a time when the crisis strikes all the economies.
The miracle of (...) -

Is Barack Obama going to change History ?
28 décembre 2008, par J-M BettembourgMy opinion about the election of Barack Obama.
I think the election of Senator Obama as the new president of the United States is a good thing for America, but also for the rest of the world.
First, his election shows a real change in the way people think. Indeed, a few years ago, a black man becoming president would have seemed unimaginable, that’s why this election is, according to me, a very good thing for the country. The election of Barack Obama also encourages minorities to open up (...) -
My feelings as a French pupil about Barack Obama’s election
28 décembre 2008, par J-M BettembourgAs the media have told it, this election can be considered as a great moment in history : it’s the fist time that a black man has been elected president of the United States ! We can see this election as a real turning point in the American policy.
However to my mind Obama hasn’t been elected only because of the color of his skin but for what he is, what he thinks and what he wants to do. The fact that he’s black doesn’t matter for me, I want to believe in the image of him he gives, that is to (...) -
Who won the election ?
28 décembre 2008, par J-M BettembourgWho won the election ? This is the question everybody asked on the 5th of November in France. Obama ! It was incredible. Until the last moment, we doubted of his victory even if the averages were in his favour. Indeed, as regard the Blacks’ history in the USA, nobody could have imagined that a black person would one day be elected president of the USA, but dream turned into reality. This event is the proof that the American dream can be fulfilled.
Nearly 50 years ago, there were still (...) -
A historical moment for America, and most of all, for the black community
28 décembre 2008, par J-M BettembourgI’m very interested in international politics, so, of course, I followed with attention yhe American elections. During the Primaries, I watched the TV to be informed about the candidates and their ideas. From the beginning, I felt more concerned about the Democrat’s program, especially on environnemental issues. I was quite surprised by Barack Obama’s nomination since I thought America wasn’t ready yet to have an African-American candidate. Because of the world economic crisis, I believed that (...)

The whole world needed such a hope
28 décembre 2008, par J-M BettembourgI am a French teenageer but I felt very interested and concerned by the election of Barack Obama as President of the USA. Actually, I think that the all world felt concerned by this elected and we all may have felt American for a few time.
Nonetheless, I am not sure that it will really change the economy but I think that the whole world needed such a hope than changes in mentalities.

Strength vs. intelligence
28 décembre 2008, par J-M BettembourgBarack Obama, was elected as the first black president of the United States of America on November 4th 2008. I think it is great. First, even he was not elected for the colour of his skin but for his ability to give a new impulse for his country, he provokes a huge hope for the Black population. Forty years ago, Blacks were lynched because of the colour of their skin. Furthermore, he fulfilled Martin Luther King’s dream. Then, we can say it is also a good thing because G Bush gave a bad (...)

A REVOLUTION FOR THE USA, A HOPE FOR US.
28 décembre 2008, par J-M BettembourgBecause we hope that as he has fulfilled the dream of Martin Luther King, he will achieve ours...
We, Students of Lycée en Forêt have specially followed the American elections. Indeed, thanks to our English teacher, we could work on this event and by the same way, understand that what we were living was historical. Indeed, for 20 years, we haven’t lived such an important and exciting event : History seemed to be paralysed ; the World looked sweltered with only bad things, such as wars, (...)
