Who won the election ?

dimanche 28 décembre 2008, par J-M Bettembourg

Who won the election ? This is the question everybody asked on the 5th of November in France. Obama ! It was incredible. Until the last moment, we doubted of his victory even if the averages were in his favour. Indeed, as regard the Blacks’ history in the USA, nobody could have imagined that a black person would one day be elected president of the USA, but dream turned into reality. This event is the proof that the American dream can be fulfilled.

Nearly 50 years ago, there were still segregation and lynching but this election is a turning point in history, it’s a glow of hope and it shows that people’s mind can evolve nonetheless if Obama was elected it’s also thanks to the member of his party who persuaded a lot of coloured people, who had never voted before, to register thus we can wonder whether white American’s mentality really evolve. Moreover only the future will tell us if Obama will really be a good president or if he will disappoint all the Americans’ expectations…
