A real victory for the Blacks

dimanche 28 décembre 2008, par J-M Bettembourg

This recent election of a new president of the USA is for me a historical event which takes part of the most important events of the last century : Barack Obama, a world president.

First of all, the fact is here : Barack has been elected as a president of the USA. That means a victory for the black population and as a dream like for Martin Luther King and all these black people who fought so hard for the Black’s rights.

From my point of view, this election is a good thing for the entire world. In deed, it could be a change compared to the last president George W. Bush, who is considered as one of the worst president of the history (some would say even before Nixon !). Then, Barack Obama is a man who seems to have good ideas, good projects for the USA but also for the great conflicts in the world. Morevover, he seems to be the man who is going to change everything…

Finally, a Black who is at the top of one of the most important country in the world, the USA, can only change people’s point of view about Blacks. After all these years of slavery, segregation or other atrocities, this eletion is a real victory for the Blacks. Furthermore, he comes from a middle social class that is to say that he can stand for men who fullfill their American dream.

To conclude, I would say that now, everyone is waiting for the changes promised by Obama but for me, even if his job isn’t prefect, he will be a historically important man forever.
